Six Decade Challenge
David Allen's life was ticking over nicely in 2008 when he suddenly suffered a huge aneurysm and sub-arachnoid haemorrhage leading to a stroke, along with complications including hydrocephalus, meningitis and epilepsy.
Having spent over three months in a coma, David firmly believes he owes his life to the brilliant team at the Wessex Neurological Centre and since these life changing events David has been a dedicated supporter of Smile4Wessex and our appeals. His past fundraising events have included completing a triathlon and also shaving his hair and beard off !
As David turns 59 this year and enters the last year of his 6th decade, he has aptly named his latest fundraising mission the "Six Decade Challenge". This will see him undertake six events over the course of six weeks, once again, all in aid of Smile4Wessex.
His challenges will include;
21st May - 60 length swim
28th May - 50 mile cycle ride
4th June - 40 vegan lunches
15th June - 30 minute stand up show
18th June - 20 mile walk
26th June - 10,000ft skydive with the Red Devils
