'Wall of Smiles' Launched

'Wall of Smiles' Launched
We are delighted to announce details of the Smile4Wessex 'Wall of Smiles'. For the full story of this new initiative please click Wall of Smiles

The Smile4Wessex 'Wall of Smiles'

The Smile4Wessex 'Wall of Smiles' will be just that, a wall covered in smiles. To be located directly adjacent to the main entrance to the new Smile4Wessex Children's Neurosciences Centre, it will not only provide a colourful addition to the unit, but an opportunity for individuals or organisations to leave a lasting message of support for this wonderful unit, to give thanks for the care a loved one received, or to remember someone special who is sadly no longer with us. By sponsoring a Smile you'll be contributing to the funding needed to complete Phase 2 of the Centre's development, providing a dedicated Playroom, Parent Room, brand new Wet Room & Bathroom , and other much needed facilities.

Each 'Smile' can be sponsored for just £100 and, with a maximum of 192 Smiles available, we hope to raise around £19,000 toward our final goal to complete the work.

The image above shows a part populated section (the finished size of that shown will be almost 2 metres wide!), and there will be a second section that will accommodate a further 112 Smiles. In addition to the 'Wall' itself, we'll be creating an electronic replica on this website, so your support can be seen online as well as by anyone visiting the ward.

Samples of the messages that can be dedicated are as follows, though we're happy to consider other messages.

'Smile4Jack - Mum & Dad'      'Love from Jill Patient & Family'      'Thanks from Jack & Jill'      'Keep Smiling - ACME Construction'

PLEASE NOTE: The maximum message size is up to three lines of text containing a maximum of 15 characters per line (including spaces). In consideration of the feelings of those parents/families whose own children may be receiving treatment on the unit for an acute illness, we trust you will understand that we CANNOT include messages that contain wording such as "in memory of ...." or "gone but not forgotten".

If you'd like to sponsor a Smile, simply click HERE to go straight to the Smile4Wessex Shop to make your purchase.

Alternatively, you can download a leaflet and order form HERE

In addition to the physical Wall of Smiles, we have created an electronic version HERE on which you can see the sponsored Smiles, and on which a more detailed message can be accessed (by clicking the + sign on each Smile). Use the scroll arrows to view the next panel and scroll the page up and down to reveal more rows of Smiles.
