On Sunday 25th August, John Parsons and his family hosted their very first "The Farmcat Fest", a music festival in memory of his nephew Neil Parsons, who tragically passed away earlier this year following a motor accident.
Neil was a hugely popular young man and following his death his family established the "Neil Parsons Memorial Trust" with the aim of raising funds for charity, in particular the two that were of great help in Neil's time of need, the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance and the Wessex Neurological Centre Smile4Wessex.
The festival took place at Sherborne Town FC and festival goers enjoyed live music from Bedrock, Lix n Stix and The Mangled Wurzels. There was also plenty of activities to entertain the whole family with a falconry display, bouncy castles, BBQ, Bar, Face Painting. Slime and Skittles.
"The event went very well, weather was good, all tickets were sold and everybody had a good time. Now just collecting the final amounts in but I anticipate we will make between £10 -£11k to be split between the 2 charities" [John Parsons]
We'd like to thank John and his family on such a wonderfully successful event and would like to thank them all for their support.
