Our Gala Dinner is one of the main events in our fundraising calendar, and this is the occasion where we reflect on the last year and recognise the outstanding efforts of our community fundraisers and present our Smile4Rich Fundraiser of the Year Award.
So, whilst we are unable to proceed with the Gala Dinner in October, we are thrilled to announce that we will still be presenting this award to our most worthy community fundraiser later in the year.
This award has generously been sponsored by MarineSpace for the last four years, and we were delighted they have chosen to support us once again this year.
Ross Fripp was a truly deserving winner in 2019, when he cycled up Southwick Hill an incredible 105 times to complete his ‘Everesting Challenge' last March. He climbed the equivalent elevation gain of Mount Everest (29030ft) in just over 15 hours! Ross underwent brain surgery to remove a brain tumour at the Wessex Neurological Centre in 2014.
We realise fundraising has been rather limited throughout the pandemic, with all large planned events being cancelled or postponed, but with restrictions gradually easing, we hope this will provide more opportunities for our wonderful supporters to dream up some ingenious fundraising ideas and be in with a chance of being shortlisted for our special award.
The Smile4Rich Fundraiser of the Year Award is not about who raises the most money, it’s about going that ‘extra mile’!
In addition to seeing your name etched on this year’s award, you will also receive a bottle of bubbly and be invited to join us for our 2021 Gala Dinner as our special guests.

Good luck to all our fundraisers!
