**Update** Sending our best wishes to Clair, who was due to take part in Sunday's London Marathon in aid of Smile4Wessex in memory of both her sister in law and cousin, who were both treated at the Wessex Neurological Centre. Sadly Clair is poorly and unable to participate this weekend, but will defer her Marathon challenge until April. We'd all like to wish Clair a speedy recovery.

On Sunday 2nd October, Clair Sparkes will undertake the 2022 London Marathon, having secured a place in the ballot.

Clair has chosen to support Smile4Wessex after her sister in law suffered a haemorrhagic stroke in April 2022 and was cared for by the dedicated team at the Wessex Neurological Centre before being transferred to St Michaels Hospice in Basingstoke, where she tragically passed away. 

In October last year, Clair also lost her wonderful cousin, Alex, who suffered a burst brain aneurysm. He was also cared for by the team at the Wessex Neurological Centre, but sadly did not survive.
