In May 2024 Shona Hannen suffered a brain aneurysm requiring urgent treatment at the Wessex Neurological Centre. 

Thanks to the expert care she received at the unit, Shona has made a good recovery and has vowed to raise funds for Smile4Wessex as a thank you to all the team who helped save her life. 

"To repay them for saving my life, to say a big thankyou, I am raising money so that they can keep saving lives as they did for me . These surgeons are the best & I cannot thank them enough"

Shona has organised a year of fundraising including a black tie charity ball at the Cumberland Hotel in Bournemouth on the 25th October, a danceathon, and has a team taking part in a plane pull at Bournemouth Airport in August, to name a few.
