On Sunday (12th April) Simon Purr took on the Lincolnshire Boston Marathon in aid of Smile4Wessex - completing the 26.2 mile course in an impressive 3hrs 41!
Simon chose to take on the challenge as this month marks 19 years since he suffered a life-altering brain hemorrhage, which was caused by an Arteriovenous Malformation, requiring urgent specialist treatment at the Wessex Neurological Centre. So to celebrate this milestone, and to say "thank you" to the team that saved him, Simon decided to take on his first marathon.
"It was really tough, some strong head winds meant it was hard going. It's been a pleasure raising for such a worthy cause and hope this can help in some way"
There is still time to support Simon by visiting his fundraising page: https://www.justgiving.com/page/simon-purr-s4w
We'd like to thank Simon for all the hours of training he put in.. for his amazing fundraising and for choosing to support Smile4Wessex.
