Applemore Netball Club was formed in 1962 by Margaret Whittaker, who over the years developed the club into one of the largest in the South. Margaret was an excellent player herself and ran the club for almost 50 years until her sad passing in 2010 of a brain tumour.

The club recently celebrated their 50th anniversary in the great spirit which Margaret brought to the club by holding a netball tournament. 50% of the proceeds were donated to Smile4Wessex as it was Margaret’s chosen charity.

Thank you to everyone involved in raising such a terrific amount towards the new Children’s Neurosciences Centre.
