When Martin Reddin suffered a serious brain injury, family and friends feared the worst, and regulars at The Hinkler pub in Thornhill, Southampton, where Martin is the resident DJ, wanted to do what they could to help. Initial thoughts were to raise money for Martin and his family, but with Martin making good progress on the road to recovery, he and his wife, Sandra, have decided they'd rather funds raised benefit the Wessex Neurological Centre where he was treated.
Martin's good friend and event organiser Paul Reynolds co-runs the Southampton Regional Pool League, so it was decided to put on a 'Speed-Pool' competition at their local. It takes place on Sunday 28th May, and players will be invited (for a small fee) to clear the table as quickly as they can, with trophies for the fastest times set. The fun starts at 2pm and the speed-pool competion will finish around 6pm, from when local (and legendary!) DJ Lee Hayball will be hosting a karaoke session. With The Hinkler putting on a BBQ, and with some great prizes to win in the raffle, it promises to be a a fun day with something for all the family.
We hope to see you there!
