We had the pleasure of meeting Judith Murray and Jeremy King this week and were thrilled to be able to show them round the unit, so they could see the projects we have funded from our past appeals and hear about our current appeal and where the donations from their recent fundraising would be going.

Judith and Jeremy took part in the ultra marathon "Race to the King" in June, in support of a dear family friend, Ben Watson and the tireless care he received at the Wessex Neurological Centre.

Ben was an active 26 year old young man when he collapsed in 2015 following a normal bout of flu and was transferred to the Wessex Neurological Centre, where he spent two weeks in a semi-coma. Following five weeks in hospital and a further three weeks in a Specialist Rehabilitation Unit, this has been, and continues to be, a long and emotional road for Ben and all his family.

They completed the epic 52.4 mile course across the South Downs over two days, raising in excess of £6000. A further £5000 was generously donated by Jeremy's company Capsicum, bringing the total to £11,057!

Thank you both so much for your tremendous support and congratulations on completing such a mammoth challenge!
